A guided tour at Copenhagen Zoo is something truly special. When a Zoo guide shows you around the Zoo during opening hours – or before and after closing time – a different side of the Zoo is revealed. You begin to notice details and behaviours that are easily overlooked during a regular visit.
The animals follow their natural morning, daytime, and evening routines, and our guides offer insights into animal behaviour, animal welfare, and everyday life in the Zoo.
You can look forward to a few wild hours filled with close encounters with some of the Zoo’s many fascinating animals – and gain a deeper understanding of Copenhagen Zoo’s work with nature conservation in Denmark and around the world.

You will have the opportunity to experience the morning routines of the Zoo up close, as well as the unique atmosphere of calm and activity that fills the Zoo before opening hours. You may also join the keepers as they say good morning and deliver the first feeding of the day to some of the most early-rising animals.

Discover The Zoo After Closing Hours
When night falls, some animals change their behaviour – while others are just waking up.
You can experience this on a guided tour of the Zoo after closing time, when it is completely quiet and free of visitors.
Our Zoo Guides are ready to share fascinating stories and entertaining anecdotes about life in the Zoo as night settles over the animals. You might even be lucky enough to hear the lion’s deep evening roar, see the elephant enjoying its evening snacks, or spot the sea lion resting calmly on the rocks.

Get Up and Go Out
When you have a long meeting day at the Zoo, it can be refreshing to stand up, get some blood flowing, and shift your focus for a while. And what better way than a short guided tour through the Zoo among animals from around the world?
In approximately 30 minutes, our Zoo Guides will take you around the Zoo, sharing new insights about the animals – while also giving you a chance to move your body and recharge your mind for the rest of the day. If there is a specific animal you would like to see, this can often be arranged. Otherwise, the Zoo Guides will tailor the tour based on the animals that are most active and relevant on the day.
The tour is adapted to your programme, and the guide will ensure that you are back in the meeting room in good time for the next session – or the end of the day.

Together with a Zoo Guide, you will explore the Zoo and encounter a variety of animal species. Along the way, the guide will tell you about the animals and the threats they face in the wild.
You will learn more about the challenges these animals face and how Copenhagen Zoo works to protect species through international breeding partnerships and conservation projects around the world. You will also discover how you can make a difference.
In short, you will get a feel for nature – and understand why nature and biodiversity are worth protecting.
